Minimalism
Minimalism - simplicity and convenience, democratic and self-restraint (end of XX - beginning of XXI century - Constructivism). Not flashy brilliance, but comfort, not a thing, but the space not loaded with objects and decoration.
of nature: muted palette of shades of white, cream, gray, brown, slightly yellow.
Materials: metal, glass, stone, modern synthetic materials that resemble nature. On the floor smooth and shining wood, laminate, linoleum, carpets for space zoning. The ceiling and walls are light, without a pattern, wallpapers plain, simple doors and windows, concealed lighting. Freestanding sectional furniture with smooth surfaces, fitted wardrobes, crisp geometric shapes.
The neutral range of finishes is the backdrop for furniture more saturated colors and bright accents of textiles, which soften reserve space (curtains, pillows, fluffy rugs). Fabrics mainly with natural structure: wool, cotton, linen, jute.
Interior tends to use large forms. Small photos are placed on the walls of a single entity. Soft furniture has streamlined contours. The combination of straight lines and smooth lines - a feature style.
Scandinavian minimalism
Scandinavian minimalism can be described in one word - "IKEA", with its eco-friendly philosophy, the use of natural materials. In minimalism, everything is very small - both in quantity and form. Few pieces of furniture, few decorations, all functional items are hidden and disguised - they becomes part of the wall, with only a few left in plain sight. Empty walls are important.
Natural materials - the perfect way to bring the heat, but not always the budget. So the style uses imitation: laminate plays the role of oak board, synthetic carpet of soft plush completely replacing expensive counterparts. No curtains - windows roller blinds. Democratic inexpensive style.
